What we ARE LOOKING FOR

Product Development Technician is a newly created entry level role that our R & D and Operations teams have been exploring for a couple of years. This search is for an individual who can be a liaison and partner within the production and design aspects of creating our Sage rods.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Product Development Technician supports Far Bank product engineers and designers to more efficiently and effectively develop products through streamlining the sample process, coordinating one-off builds, conducting testing procedures, inspecting for quality, and assisting in other product development/operations projects as needed. The Product Development Technician works with engineers and designers on both our Product Development and Operations teams. This position is based out of our main headquarters on Bainbridge Island, WA.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Aid in Sage rod development by building samples in collaboration with Product Development and Operations teams. This may include coordination of sample delivery with stakeholders in Sales, Marketing, and external field testers
• Assist in formulating coatings and inks for development and production purposes
• Mechanical Testing. Includes fabrication of samples, measuring, testing with mechanical testing equipment, and collating data according to defined procedures
• Work with Product Development and Operations teams to identify and implement manufacturing process improvements, constantly striving to identify opportunities to improve and enhance the efficiency of rod development and production
• Assist in implementation of new product designs and processes into manufacturing
• Document all procedures and product specifications
• Conduct quality inspections and assist in troubleshooting quality issues
• Coordinate data entry and retrieval in ERP software. Includes data analysis, cost analysis, and competitive landscape analysis to inform and identify product development opportunities

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree
• Experience in a manufacturing environment building products that require attention to detail in quality and craftsmanship is a plus
• Active interest in fly fishing

COMPENSATION

• The salary range for Product Development Technician is $24.00 to $ 33.50 per hour, depending on experience and skills. The hiring range will be from $ 24.00 to the midpoint of $28.75 unless experience exceeds requirements listed.
