What we ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for the right fit to fill the role of Redington Hardgoods Developer. This role will be the driver for the Redington hardgoods portfolio (rods/reels/kits) from concept to market, including but not limited to assessment of product opportunities, initial concepts, design, supplier communications, sampling, testing, and final production.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Redington Hardgoods Developer will be accountable for evaluating the current product portfolio, innovating existing inline products to capitalize on market opportunities, as well as identifying gaps and/or opportunities to develop new products and new product material/functions to stay in front of market trends. The Redington Hardgoods Developer works intimately with our suppliers, collaborating on best approaches to product development and opportunities with new material and manufacturing capabilities, while diligently evaluating current and potential suppliers to ensure our partnerships are aligned with Far Bank's business goals. This position is based out of our main headquarters on Bainbridge Island, WA.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Product Design/Development, Testing and Portfolio Management
• Excellent Communication Skills needed with internal peers, consumers, retailers, manufacturers, and distributors regarding rod performance, technical, and manufacturing properties.
• Industry Knowledge and Field Experience as it relates to fly fishing.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree
• 3+ Years of relevant Fly Fishing industry experience, focus around design and development is preferred
• Strong analytical skills coupled with project management and planning skills.
• Fully proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to work hard, travel, and work weekends and/or long hours.
• Highly motivated, flexible, self-directed, and outgoing personality.
• Proven project management skills including planning, budgeting, time management, prioritization, attention to detail, problem solving, decision making, and communication - both written and verbal
• Strong background and experience in vendor relations
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and experience working directly with international factories and suppliers highly desired
• Proven history of successful development, introduction, and delivery of new products
• Experience with sales, margin, and cost analysis
• Passion for Fly Fishing!

COMPENSATION

• The salary range for the Redington Hardgoods Developer is $75,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on experience and skills. The hiring range will be from $75,000 to the midpoint of $82,000 unless experience exceeds requirements listed.
