Staff Accountant - Outdoor Industry

SUMMARY

The Finance team is seeking a candidate who likes to dive into the information, problem solve, and drive to completion. The candidate should have a passion for team success with an eagerness to learn, support their peers, provide knowledge, information, and support outlying departments.

Core Responsibilities

• Prepare and enter journal entries in accordance to GAAP
• Participate in monthly closing processes, reconciliation of various general ledger accounts in support of financial statement preparation.
• Maintain detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
• Perform bank reconciliations and coordinate with Accounts Receivable regarding customer deposits
• Ad hoc projects and financial analysis in support of operations
• support external audits
• Maintain compliance through timely preparation and filing of various state & local tax returns
• Follow established accounting processes while developing and implementing new procedures
• Additional accounting responsibilities as designated by the Controller and CFO

Skills and Job Requirements

• Proficient in Excel.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
• 1+ years of experience in public accounting or manufacturing industry
• Attention to detail and deadline-oriented
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills
• Work independently as well as in a team environment
• In-depth hands-on experience with accounting software Microsoft Dynamics a big plus!
• Experience with sales tax nexus and compliance a plus
